I had the honor of speaking at the The Linux Foundation's Open Source Policy and Ecosystem Forum in Brussels today. Half of my talk was about open source policy and cool initiatives, but the other half was dedicated to the *insane* duopoly of Google and Apple in our mobile ecosystem.
Currently 99% of all devices in the world run on iOS and Android. Apple is a closed ecosystem, and Google is employing serious anti-competitive measures to increasingly lock down Android. If the EU is serious about digital sovereignty it'll need to advocate for an open mobile ecosystem.
