• The Invitation

    It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
    I want to know
    what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
    of meeting your heart’s longing.

    It doesn’t interest me
    how old you are.
    I want to know
    if you will risk
    looking like a fool
    for love
    for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

    It doesn’t interest me
    what planets are
    squaring your moon...
    I want to know
    if you have touched
the centre of your own sorrow
    if you have been opened
    by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
    from fear of further pain.

    I want to know
if you can sit with pain
    mine or your own
    without moving to hide it
    or fade it
    or fix it.

    I want to know
if you can be with joy
    mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
    without cautioning us
    to be careful
    to be realistic
    to remember the limitations
    of being human.

    It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
    is true.
I want to know if you can
    disappoint another
    to be true to yourself.
    If you can bear
    the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
    If you can be faithless
    and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
    every day.
And if you can source your own life
    from its presence.

    I want to know
if you can live with failure
    yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
    “Yes.”

    It doesn’t interest me
    to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
    to feed the children.

    It doesn’t interest me
    who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
    with me
    and not shrink back.

    It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
    you have studied.
    I want to know
    what sustains you
    from the inside
    when all else falls away.

    I want to know
    if you can be alone
    with yourself
    and if you truly like
    the company you keep
    in the empty moments.

    "There's a famous picture
    From the war in Vietnam
Little girl running on a road burned and screaming
    Thirty years later
She met the man who called down the napalm
    Did he lie
    When he begged for forgiveness

She said I'm a soul survivor
God's grace has set me free
    And I'm a living reminder
    So think about me
Oh can you think about me"

    I used to be enclosed
    in the servitude of captivity,
    When desire imprisoned me
    in the will of affection.
    There the light of ardor
    from divine love found me,
    Who quickly killed my desire,
    my will and affection,
Which impeded in me the enterprise
of the fullness of divine love.

    Now has Divine Light
    delivered me from captivity,
    And joined me by gentility
to the divine will of Love,
There where the Trinity gives me
    The delight of His love.
    This gift no human understands,
As long as he serves any Virtue whatever,
    Or any feeling from nature,
    through practice of reason.

  • Not I, not I, but the wind that blows through me!
A fine wind is blowing the new direction of Time.
If only I let it bear me, carry me, if only it carry me!
If only I am sensitive, subtle, oh, delicate, a winged gift!
If only, most lovely of all, I yield myself and am borrowed
By the fine, fine wind that takes its course through the chaos of the world
    Like a fine, an exquisite chisel, a wedge-blade inserted;
If only I am keen and hard like the sheer tip of a wedge
    Driven by invisible blows,
The rock will split, we shall come at the wonder, we shall find the Hesperides.

Oh, for the wonder that bubbles into my soul,
    I would be a good fountain, a good well-head,
Would blur no whisper, spoil no expression.

    What is the knocking?
What is the knocking at the door in the night?
It is somebody wants to do us harm.

No, no, it is the three strange angels.
    Admit them, admit them
(D.H. Lawrence - Song of a Man Who Has Come Through)

  • What fayre and gentle weather blesseth this day, most meet for the quaffing of a sweet draught , and lo, what a wondrous prospect doth unfold from the balcony, a sight most pleasing to the eye and soul alike.

  • Seated ‘neath the trembl’ing gleam of candle light, I taketh mine ease and sup upon a modest fare; for when sleep doth flee and tarry not long upon mine eyes, such quiet vigil bringeth some small comfort to the restless soul.

    1. Fleetwood Mac "Break the chain" med Gene Simmons datter Sophie. FANTASTISK.

    2. Led Zeppelin "Hey hey what can I do"

    3. Simon & Garfunkel "Sounds of silence" - Gåsehud, sikke nogle harmonier.
